Revelation 5

14 verses

TL;DR

Revelation 5 records the awe‑filled vision of a sealed book and the revelation that the Lamb, identified as the Lion of Judah, is uniquely worthy to open it, prompting universal worship.

Summary

John sees a book in the right hand of the one who sits on the throne, sealed with seven seals and unreadable by anyone in heaven, on earth, or under the earth. He weeps over the inability to open it, but an elder assures him that the Lion of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed to do so. A slain Lamb with seven horns and seven eyes, representing the seven Spirits of God, comes forward, takes the book, and the four beasts and twenty‑four elders fall before Him. With harps and golden vials of prayers they sing a new song praising His worthiness, sacrifice, and redemption of all peoples. Many angels, numbering ten thousand times ten thousand, proclaim the Lamb’s worthiness to receive power, riches, wisdom, and glory. All creatures in heaven, on earth, and under the earth hear this, and the four beasts affirm it with “Amen,” while the elders worship the everlasting living.
