Jesus endures the devil’s temptations, declares His mission, and begins His ministry in Galilee, facing both wonder and hostility.
After the Holy Spirit leads Him into the wilderness, Jesus endures forty‑day temptation by Satan, refusing to turn stones into bread and rejecting the offer of all worldly power. He proclaims Scripture against the devil, then returns to Galilee where His fame spreads. Jesus teaches in synagogues, reading Isaiah, and declares the prophecy fulfilled, causing his hometown to reject him. He performs miracles—casting out an unclean spirit and healing a fevered woman—while the crowd marvels at His authority. Yet some rise in wrath, attempting to cast Him down, and he leaves to continue preaching elsewhere.
